"Isn’t it funny how what you become starts at such an early age? When I was awarded the Best Event Planner by Chapel Hill Magazine, I paused in deep gratitude and reflected on how I spent my early years pestering my mom to tell me what was on the dinner menu long before the day had officially begun (my poor mother). I recalled waking with the need to know who was coming to dinner, what company we’d be keeping that evening and of course what we’d be serving. It seemed my constant hope to bring people together..." Today, designing, planning and executing special, memorable, sweet events is my everything! Farm-to-table culinary experiences, sweet nuptials in wild flower fields, old barns, swanky urban roof tops, modern hotels & art museums, and oh-so-so-sweet vintage chapels... I am addicted to exquisite solutions and combinations that reflect the story, the history and the future of the people celebrating.

With studies in both the creative and disciplined, culinary arts fulfilled both my aesthetic desires for beauty and artistry, and shaped my work ethic as well as my belief that hard work always pays off. My career took shape when I had the opportunity to work under one of the top chefs in South Africa and the UK. But a degree in Culinary Arts is just about food and food was never enough. My heart sang when all of the pieces would come together- good company, well-prepared food, handpicked local florals and a truly special occasion. 

Kast Events & Co. has now grown into an award-winning event &  design company serving the Triangle here in beautiful North Carolina and beyond. Isn’t it funny how what you become starts at such an early age?  I often think of how I spent my early years pestering my mom to tell me what was on the dinner menu long before the day had officially begun (my poor mother). I recalled waking with the need to know who was coming to dinner, what company we’d be keeping that evening and of course what we’d be serving. It seemed my constant hope to bring people together around food often turning our living room into my own little restaurant, serving my parents anything I could whip together from basic refrigerator items. It was only later that I baked my first perfect profiterole at the very proud age of 10. 

To me, we always had company coming - even if it was just the two of them. When tough times hit, as they do in many families, handpicked flowers and a meal on the table created a sense of normalcy; of continued celebration whether the day called for it or not. So I suppose it was no surprise when I decided to enter culinary school.

A Pennsylvania native, my background and education are in Hotel Resort and Tourism Management. My desire to move to NC brought me to Fearrington Village where I met and worked with Cheryl-Ann Kast in Weddings/Special Events and Catering. Together we planned the sweet details of a couple's special day. I was beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to join her team at Kast Events & Co. at The Parlour at Manns Chapel, where we take the creative planning process to the next level giving unforgettable events the attention they deserve!

Originally from New York, I made the move to NC to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I loved it here so much that I stayed! Who wouldn't? My extensive experience in working with Kast & Co. has taught me that weddings are a culmination of lots of preparation and hard work, combined with intense passion and a desire to see people at their most joyous. We love to see it all come together while delighting in the joining of two lives and two communities for a brand new beginning.

Graduate of the Institute of Culinary Arts in South Africa
Trained under world renowned Grand Chef Margot Janse of Le Quartier Francais
In 2006 joined the AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star Fearrington House Restaurant, a Relais & Chateaux treasure. Cheryl-Anne made a smooth transition from the kitchen to Catering Manager and Weddings & Special Events Manager where she served thousands of clients over the course of 6 years in creating unique, beautiful, and meaningful celebrations & events.
In 2015, Cheryl-Anne founded Kast Events LLC
