Whitney and Rob married in the town where they both attended University, Chapel Hill North Carolina. It was a stunning, sunny Spring afternoon. Their ceremony was held in the Bryan Courtyard at the Iconic Carolina Inn right in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill with their reception immediately following in the Old Well Wing .

Whitney and Rob wanted an intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family and The Bryan Courtyard was the perfect setting and backdrop. Guests were welcomed to the ceremony with a glass of champagne in a beautiful garden setting. Anna from Mersitem florals outdid herself with a jaw dropping deconstructed arch and floral lined aisle! The couple opted to not have a bridal party, just two very sweet little flower girls. Making their day relaxed and laid back!

Ceremony

This design was packed with personal touches and all the little details truly is what made the day feel like Whitney and Rob. The couple wanted to bring the outdoors inside and asked us to create a romantic garden party in the Old Well Wing. We bought in small fruit trees, lush, organic arrangements and romantic draping. We designed a custom band backdrop with our friends from GetLit Special Event lighting which truly transformed the room!

The tables were dressed with soft, textured ivory linens to allow the floral pieces to truly shine! The elegant place settings consisted of gold rimmed china, brushed gold flatware and luxurious Belgian Linen napkins perfectly tied together with French blue ribbons form Adorn & Company. The circle menu added a fun, whimsical touch!

Being mostly a Chapel Hill/UNC and NYC crowd, this group certainly knew how to have a fun party! Whitney and Rob made a grand entrance into the ballroom and danced together as husband and wife to Stand by Me by Ben E. King played by the Ascension Band . The dances and welcome were featured by Southern Style Stationed meal and included the Inn’s famous Shrimp and Grits.

Drinks and food flowed all evening and the band didn’t miss a beat! The perfect evening ended with a sparkler exit and the couple hopping into a Carolina Tax cab!
