Genna and Haydn got married this past October at the beautiful Barn of Chapel hill. It was the most gorgeous fall day with perfect weather, amazing details and beauty, love and dancing! The color palette for this wedding is one of our all time favorites! Genna told us she loved blue and we ran with it . We included shades of mustard, ivory and lot’s of beautiful greenery.
Genna and Haydn met while at their first duty station, JBLM, Washington. Their first encounter was Genna actually yelling at Haydn because he did not make a good first impression on her platoon during a battalion exercise! Shortly after that, Haydn went on another training exercise for a month in CA and they starting talking to one another while Haydn was gone. Genna asked him if he wanted to get dinner with her when he returned. They had dinner and were friends ever since. They would get teased at work; and called the nickname GG. They decided that they would never date because they did not want tamper with their relationship at work but that did not last! We are all so glad it didn’t !
Their ceremony took place on the side lawn of the Barn of Chapel Hill in front of a gorgeous greenery wall. It was short but oh so sweet and full of love. Genna’s three brother’s acted as the officiants and they were the best-they knocked it out of the park! We loved how Jenn from Wild Flora Farm incorporated hydrangeas throughout the whole day because she knew how much they meant to Genna and the significance they held for her mom who passed away.
The cocktail hour followed the ceremony on the front, brick patio under romantic market lights from Get Lit Special Event lighting. We cozied up the patio with a lounge from Cottage Luxe , a custom bar with signature drinks and yummy food stations with some of Genna and Haydn’s favorite foods. Cocktail hour was followed by dinner inside th Barn! The barn was absolutely breathtaking with every single detail just the way we planned it with Genna. Lush florals, beautiful tones of blues and mustards and rustic little touches which all really warmed the space.
There are so many favorite parts of Genna and Haydn’s day! The father daughter dance being the most memorable! Genna’s dad threw her for a loop when it was their time to do their dance. Genna was in tears, he was in tears and then he whispered in her ear, “Get ready for a spin,” and when he spun her, her oldest brother stepped in. This continued with all 3 her brothers and then ended with her uncle, her mom’s oldest brother. It was a moment none of us were prepared for, there was not a dry eye in the room! Everyone was in tears. The delicious dinner by Rocky Top Catering was followed by a packed dance floor with DJ Joe Bunn of Bunn DJ Company and yummy ice cream from Two Roosters.
It was the best day ever for the BEST couple ever! Justine and I were both in tears as they ran through a tunnel of sparklers and hopped into their vintage car! We love you Genna and Haydn!
Thank you to the incredible team of vendors who helped make this day so special!
